We are the Larson Family from Versailles Kentucky. We live in the heart of BlueGrass in Central Kentucky, which is the horse capital of the world. We have been in Kentucky for nearly a year, after having lived in Indiana, Minnesota, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska and North Dakota. All the moving changes were the result of Richard changing locations with his career in the seed industry over the last 35 years. We are now settled here to enjoy this part of the USA and make new friends and create new memories from our experience here in Kentucky.

        Our goal for our family and the goal of  BlueGrass Mini-Schnauzers are to: raise healthy and friendly family companions -  our Mini-Schnauzer pups with great dispositions, raised and bred by the Larson Family in Kentucky, at BlueGrass Mini-Schnauzers. These Mini-Schnauzer pups will be shared with other families across the USA who want to have the same great experiences we have had with the Minis living with us.

        We are a family of five who love life and the outdoors and raising dogs. We have here in 2006, a family of 9 Mini-Schnauzers who share our lives with us here in Kentucky, and with Sarah and Karl in Indiana. We entered the breeding of our Mini-Schnauzers,  when we finally settled here in the BlueGrass. In our past we raised Beagles in the panhandle of Texas, and on the move to Minnesota made the change to Mini-Schnauzers. Many of our Beagles went to family members and friends.  Jack, a Beagle who was given to our friends from Argentina, traveled to Illinois and then to Brazil and Argentina when the Bocca family returned home to Brazil.

        For us the raising of the dogs brings us all together with a common bond to dogs and life and the family. We all share the tasks of raising the dogs and look forward to many years of raising pups who will become valued members of other families all across the USA. The family consists of the five of us and our extended family at all the places we have lived thru the years. We also partner with the breeders who are partners with DragonWard Mini-Schnauzers. We are grateful especially to Marilyn and Margie for all their help with our dogs. Many of our dogs are from their lines and also from the Hickory Hills bloodlines from Phylis Miller from Bowling Green Kentucky.

        Jacque my wife is co-owner of the BlueGrass Mini-Schnauzers. She also works as a customer service rep. at National City here in Versailles. She was born in Indiana and raised in Colorado as member of the Burger Family in Ft. Collins.

        Sarah is a senior at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, majoring in Psychology. She keeps her mini, Sadie with her there as a student. Sarah is a great caretaker of all the Schnauzers whenever she makes it home from school.

Karl is a freshman at Indiana University in Bloomington, and is working on declaring a major at this time. He has a very active interest in sports and played baseball and football in Minnesota while in high school. Karl loves to play with each of the dogs and gets a big kick out of rolling in the grass with all of them chasing him around the yard.

        Kristian is a freshman in high school, at Woodford County High School in Versailles. He loves sports as well and plays baseball and football. He is our chief groom and hair cutter. He has favorites among the dogs and is a great help around the house and with the dogs.

        Richard is a professional seeds-man and agronomist who works for Precision Agricultural Services in Versailles as a trainer and auditor. He has loved dogs and raised animals all of his life, beginning with his early days on the family farm in Western North Dakota. He spent his time in the evenings and weekends with dogs and reading and studying on how to be a better breeder.
